Bits And Bobs...

Hello lovely people!

I have been working on lots of wee bits and bobs and thought I would share them with you all.  Dougal has been lots of help as you can see....

One of the things I made was some cute girly bunting for a friend to give as a present.

The school that I work at decided to make a wee reading corner for our KS1.  I helped to make it cosy by stitching some fun designs onto plain cushions.  I used some scrap felt and hand stitched them onto the fabric.

I also made some bunting from the rest of the scraps and some teeny tiny dot strip bunting for the shelves.

At Hobbycraft they had some plain  cardboard letters and I thought they would look good painted and covered in buttons.  So that is exactly what I did!

Look at our fantastic reading corner!  It's very cosy and inviting :)

Then I was asked to help create some for the main school library.  The library has lots of calm green colours and trees so I used felt to make tiny leaves and flowers.  I think they look fantastic!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...

Hello lovely people!

I have been waiting patiently to share this wee post with you!  Our friends recently got married :) and I didn't know what to get them.  So I made them this wee picture that had their names intertwined and the date they got married.

I had really wanted to do a papercut design with their names and hearts etc but as you can see this didn't go well!

It was so difficult to cut and I kept accidentally tearing or ripping the delicate design.  After 5 failed attempts I went back to the drawing board!

I then came up with the idea of using pipe cleaners that were twisted into their names.  There are lots of really good examples of this kind of art on pinterest.

I used embroidery floss and wrapped it round the pipe cleaners until it was all covered.  Use a tapestry needle to tuck the ends under the thread as this makes it look neat and tidy.

I cut a piece of dotty paper to size and put it in a box frame.  I also added the date they got married and some love heart buttons to finish it off.

Pretty Craft Shelves

Hello lovely people!

I haven't been up to a lot of sewing recently because I have been tidying! :O I know, me tidying!  I found this while I was cleaning, and I had totally forgotten I had started it :s

Again this was a kit from Etsy -"This Tiny Existence".  It is a very detailed kit and took a while to do the black outlines.  My favourite shelf is the button jar one.  I wish my button collection  looked that neat on a shelf :).

I think it will look really pretty once it is finished but it will take a while to do, and I still have cross stitch to finish ahhhhhhh!
