Printing Fun!

Hello lovely people and a happy new year!

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and New Year?  I had been quite ill in the run up to the holidays but recovered just in time for Christmas :)  I have been doing lots of cross stitching in my cuddle chair.

I had also been looking into screen printing and what sort of kits are out there.  I did a bit of printing at university but that was a few years ago now and I have forgotten a lot of the processes.  When I went to Leeds a few weeks ago I found an amazing print shop in the Corn Exchange....

Emma (the girl who owns Medium), was so helpful and explained what sort of kit I would need to buy.  And I was able to order everything I needed from her!  She even offered to give me a tutorial to help me get started!

So that was where I was today!  Her shop is full of kits, paints, inks, papers and exciting things to get creative with.  Emma started off by showing me how to create paper stencils and how to print onto paper.  Then she talked me through how to use the photo emulsion technique and gave me lots of really helpful tips and ideas.

I used one of my peggy doll images and Emma showed me how to layer images on top of one another.  This is the design that we produced...

I love the bold blue and how the dolly looks printed on top.  I can't wait to try some more designs.

Emma has a website and a Facebook page where you can buy printing products and she does all kinds of workshops! Click on the link below -
