Another Dotty Dollie!

Hello lovely people!

Just wanted to share another doll I have made for the school summer fair!  She is quite a large doll with a lovely summer dress and flowers in her hair.

I cut out all my pattern pieces and stuffed them as usual.  Then hand stitched her face and added some hair.  I used an old shirt I had to create the skirt and stitched on a few buttons and she was finished!

I tied a scrap piece of ribbon around her ankle to add a bit of detail.

Bobbin, Bobbin, Bobbins!!!

Hello lovely people!

I hope you are all well?  I have been raiding my gran's sewing box for her bobbins!  I love old bobbins they are sooo much nicer than today's ones.  The have beautiful labels and most are wooden.

I ended up with about 25 of them and some other pretty vintage bits of sewing ephemera.

I would really like to display them in a box frame but I can't find one deep enough for them!  I bought one from ikea thinking it would do, even spray painted it, then realised that they didn't fit!

Then I thought I could maybe staple a bit of material behind it but then I wouldn't be able to hang it up :(  So frustrating...

So they are back in their bag until I can decide what to do with them or if I see a good frame for them.

The Aliens Have Landed!

Hello lovely people,

I made these for school a while ago and I'm just getting around to blogging about it now!  I made these for Year 1 and they were very simple to sew.  You could hand sew them but I used my sewing machine as it was quicker.

They are made from 4 wash cloths.  I used some felt to add colour on the legs, legs and to make a face.  They crash landed at our school and the children have had a lot of fun making up stories and playing with their aliens!
