Goldie Hollander

Hello lovely people!

I have a lovely wee interview with the designer Goldie Hollander, who I discovered on Etsy, while looking for sewing supplies!  Her work is just exquisite and I wanted to share it with all of you :)

- Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

I am living in Israel, but originally from Belgium, I arrived here when I was 20 years old.
I am an interior designer (not working) , doing now design in minis.

-What is your favorite piece of work to date and why?

I don't think I have a piece that I prefer, it is always the last one that I am working on it.
I started with miniatures 18 years ago when I received a kit for a shop for my 40 birthday.

-I love the wee tinny sewing workshop ! Where did you get the idea to create these?

I made a shop for fabric , knitting, sewing....since then I love this subject.  I made quite a lot of patchwork and quilting before the minis so I have still a lot of fabric.

- Do you have any new projects/exhibitions coming up?

I am participating in a new exhibit in Eilat, the south of Israel, till the end of December.
I put some pictures on my flickr -

-Any exciting news to share?

One month back I participated at a NAME convention in Tucson, Arizona. I really enjoy meeting other miniaturists.

I would just like to say thank you again to Goldie for taking the time to answer my questions and let me show off her work.  All pictures are copyright of Goldie Hollander.  Check out her Etsy shop too -

My Vintage Stash!!!

Hello everyone!

Apologies for not posting as much but I am concentrating on my course and trying to get through it as quickly as possible! However I have been to a lovely vintage sewing shop in Skipton recently and purchased a few tablecloths and pretty lace and buttons.  And I wanted to share my lovely finds with you all :)

Aren't they just lovely! I can't decide what one I like the best.  I am hoping to use them in my sewing projects and learn how to do screen printing at home but that won't be for a while yet!  Here are some close-ups of the rest of these beautiful fabrics.

I Love Sweet Peas!

 Hello everyone!

This is just a super quick post today.  I got some sweet peas the other day, (they are my favourite flower!) and put them in a wee milk bottle.  Now I love to customize hings so I wanted to make the bottle a bit more interesting.

I had a look in my ribbon box and dug out my glue gun and decided what to stick on.

Thought that these ribbons worked well together and I've had that lace for aaaaages!  The final result is nice and simple and will work well with any flowers and colours.
