1940s Weekend!!!

Hello lovely people!

This weekend we went to Haworth and they were having a 1940s weekend where people get dressed up, there are vintage stalls, dancing and wee cute cafes.  It was BRILLIANT!! Next year we will have to go dressed up.  The best photograph I snapped was the dog in the car, he had a wee cute driver hat on!  So here are some of the best photos I got, there is a dashing policeman, a dog in a hat and fancy cars!

Here is the link to their website for more info on the event in case you want to go next year too   http://www.haworth1940sweekend.co.uk/HOME.html

Best picture ever!

Framed And Finished...

Hello fellow bloggers!

I did a post about this cross stitch last year I think....  Well it is finally finished and framed and looks lovely if I do say so myself! Sorry for the glare on the photos but I couldn't get a better one.

Nikki McWilliams

Hello lovely people!

I have a lovely interview from Nikki McWilliams to share with you today!  She has all sorts of lovely products on her website www.nikkimcwilliams.com but my favorite items are her cushions! As you all know I am a bit obsessed with them.  All photos in this post are property of Nikki McWilliams.

- Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

I'm Nikki, I'm 27 and I'm a designer. I love new sketchbooks, biscuits and cats.

- What made you decide to pursue a career in textiles?

It seemed like the natural path for me. I've always loved working with cloth - ever since my mum taught me to sew and make when I was wee.

- I love all the biscuit cushions and can't decide which one I like the best! Where did you get the idea to create these?

From our overflowing biscuit-tin!

- Where do you get your inspiration from?

Anywhere and everywhere.

- Do you have any new pieces int he pipeline?

Yes a few! We launched a brand new cushion last week (Biscuit Mix) and we have a few more on the way.

- Any exciting news to share?

See above!

- Do you have any advice for new designers?

Be fearless!

- What is your favorite piece of work to date and why?

My new Biscuit Mix cushion in cool monotone.  It's so different to my previous work and I can't wait to bag a few for our flat!

I just want to say thank you to Nikki for taking the time to answer my questions and letting me write this post!
