"The Three Musketeers..."

Hello everyone!

So you may be wondering who the three musketeers are?  Well they are Louise, Kate and myself of course! :)

And here we are.  This photo was taken a few years ago now and we were in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival, which was really good fun.  We saw some comedians and bought the flower garlands, (from a wee stall), that you can see in this picture.  We actually got stopped a few times by girls asking where we had gotten them.  Louise is the one with the sunglasses on and Kate has a very pretty blue hat on.  Louise has a blog which is filled with lots of interesting fashion news and lovely pictures, so go and have a look here

Kate had made me a birthday card and I still have it because it just makes me smile every time I look at it.

I really do need a box to make me the same height as them, maybe 2 boxes when they have heels on!

I had noticed the card again while I was attempting to tidy up a bit, and thought I that it would make a really nice stitched design.  So I blew it up on a photocopier because it was too small to stitch as it was.

I used some light cotton for my backing fabric and taped my photocopy and material onto the window.  This made it easier to see the design underneath and was able to trace it onto the fabric.  I know there are lots of other ways to do this but this was easiest for me at the time.  I used 3 strands of anchor cotton to do the black outline.

And here is the finished outline work :) I think it has turned out really well.  I then just used anchor and DMC threads to fill in the hair and clothes etc.  Now I have a lovely patch to sew onto a bag or a t-shirt maybe?
